Body-Stream offers Pilates reformer, Pilates mat, Barre and Iyengar yoga classes in Utrecht in a spacious, modern studio at the swimming pool “De Krommerijn.”

At Body-Stream, our goal is to make you feel good in your body through movement. Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing knee, hip, or back pain, or simply want to build strength and flexibility in a welcoming environment – you’ll find your place here.

All our instructors are fully certified Pilates teachers with over 500 hours of training. Our experienced teachers bring their love for movement with great energy and enthusiasm. We work in small groups (maximum 8 people for reformer classes), so you get personal attention and exercises can be adapted to your level.

Students of all levels are welcome – from complete beginners to advanced practitioners!

Pilates Mat Classes

How to Find Us

By Tram: We’re located right at De Kromme Rijn tram stop, on the tram line between Utrecht Central Station and Science Park P&R.
From the tram stop, you can see the De Krommerijn swimming pool. That’s where we are!

By Car: Ample parking is available at the swimming pool location.

  • Paid parking: 7:00am – 11:00am
  • FREE parking: From 11:00am onwards

Finding the Entrance: To get to Body-Stream, go through the gate on the left hand side of the main building of the swimming pool. Follow the path leading you to the Body-Stream door.

Please arrive 5 minutes before your first class.

Your teacher will have a brief conversation with you to understand any specific needs or concerns so they can better help you during class.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need previous Pilates experience to join?

Not at all! We welcome complete beginners through advanced practitioners. Our small group sizes allow teachers to adapt exercises to your level. If you are new to Pilates reformer or mat, we recommend you join either our ‘Basic’ or ‘Beginner’ Reformer group lessons, Open Level Mat classes or book a private class to have individual attention. Before your first class begins, your teacher will briefly speak with you to understand your experience level and any concerns, so they can guide you appropriately.

Many of our clients come to us with these exact concerns. Our experienced teachers (several with physiotherapy backgrounds) can modify exercises during class to ensure you move safely. For those recovering from surgery or with significant injuries, we recommend starting with private sessions before joining group classes. We work alongside your physiotherapist or doctor.

Absolutely! Many of our clients are 60-70+ years old. Pilates reformer is particularly good for older adults because the machine provides support while building strength. Our teachers understand age-related considerations and will ensure you work at an appropriate pace. You’ll be surprised about what your body can do!

Pilates mat uses your body weight and small props (like balls and bands) on an exercise mat. Pilates reformer uses a specialized machine with springs that provide adjustable resistance. The reformer offers more support, allows for greater variety (500+ exercises!), and is often easier for beginners or those with injuries because the machine assists your movements. Both are excellent and can compliment each other – many clients do both!

Reformer classes have a maximum of 8 clients. Mat classes have 12-15 participants. This ensures everyone receives personal attention, corrections, and modifications as needed. You’re never just a number in our classes.

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in (nothing too loose that might get caught in the reformer).

We provide all equipment – you just bring yourself!

Yes! Flexibility is something we build through Pilates – you don’t need to have it when you start. Our teachers will work with your current range of motion and help you improve gradually and safely.

You can cancel up to 12 hours before group classes and 24 hours before private classes through our booking system Eversports. 

Because we train in small groups and some classes fill up quickly, please let us know as soon as possible so clients on the waiting list can join.

Yes! You can book individual classes to try us out. Check our Pricing page for current rates and package options. We recommend trying at least 3-4 classes to really experience the benefits of Pilates.

Of course! While Pilates is often associated with women, it was actually developed by a man (Joseph Pilates) for men and is incredibly beneficial for them. We have male teachers on our team (Alexander Bakker, one of our owners, is a certified Pilates instructor) and many male clients. Pilates builds core strength, flexibility, and body awareness that benefit everyone.

Absolutely! Many of our clients take reformer classes 1-2 times per week and add mat or barre classes. This variety keeps your body challenged and your practice interesting. We can help you design a schedule that works for your goals.

Arrive 5 minutes early. Your teacher will briefly ask about your experience level, any injuries or concerns, and what you hope to achieve. During class, they’ll guide you through each exercise, show modifications, and give individual corrections. Don’t worry about being “perfect” – focus on learning and listening to your body.
